Local Road Adoptions Approved
As of the May 7,
2003 Mifflin Chapter meeting, there have been eight local road adoptions
by county residents approved since January 2003.
- Peach Orchard
Road, Granville Township - adopted by The Peach Orchard Clean
Up Crew.
- Salem Road,
Armagh Township - adopted by Leroy, Fran, Carl, Judy, and Armagh Township.
- Church Lane,
Armagh Township - adopted by McNitt's Fruit Farm
- Church Lane
and Queen Street Extended, Brown Township - adopted by Dale and
Roberta Steltzer.
- Siglerville/Millheim
Pike, Armagh Township - adopted by St. John's/St. Paul's Lutheran
Church.
- Three miles of
Back Mountain Road, Armagh Township - adopted by Abby Yetter.
- Salem Crossroad,
Armagh Township - adopted by B's Screenprinting and Embroidery.
Roads adopted through
PA CleanWays must be public roads maintained by the township or borough.
Volunteers must agree to schedule cleanups along the adopted portion
of the roadway at least twice a year for two years.
Mifflin Chapter
also coordinates adoptions for streams, playgrounds, parks, trails,
and other public spaces throughout the county.
