Sponsors Booth at "Kid Connection"
PA CleanWays of
Mifflin County sponsored and manned an educational booth at Kid Connection
in Lewistown, PA. Originally scheduled for April 26, 2003, the event
was moved to Saturday, May 3, due to inclement weather.
Chapter staff and
volunteers were on hand to teach children about the dangers of littering
and to give them ideas for helping to stop littering and keep their
communities clean.
The Litter I.Q.
Board was a focal point of the chapter's booth. Both kids and adults
found matching the object to its decomposition time challenging. The
chapter also gave out recycled corn fiber bags, activity books, crayons,
CleanWays Kids newsletters, and clean water publications supplied by
the Mifflin County Conservation District.
More than 500 kids
were educated and over 1,000 publications were given out at the event.
