residents brought in over 800 tires for recycling on June 7. Drop off
sites were available at Wal-Mart Super Center in Union Township, the
Wayne Township Volunteer Fire Department, and Wilmington Township Municipal
Building. Sixteen volunteers worked through the morning to collect the
tires from residents and stack them in tractor trailers.
PA CleanWays of Lawrence holds this event annually to give county residents
an economical and environmentally friendly way to dispose of tires that
may be accumulating in their yards or garages. A small fee is charged
to offset the cost of disposal.
