Recycling

By Gabrielle Y., Age 9, Chester County

Recycling is very important to the environment. If you don't recycle, a lot of littering could be done to the earth.

Practically everything can be recycled, so there's no need to throw away things that can be useful to you in the future. There is a lot of things that you can recycle. You
can recycle paper into other paper, paper towels, and even tissues. Rotten or leftover foods can be recycled into compost piles. Even refrigerators can get recycled into things like toys.

Every week a lot of trash gets thrown away. Every week the trash piles get bigger and bigger. Sometimes the trash leaks through any cracks and can get blown into lakes, ponds, creeks, oceans, and seas. That can pollute the water
and kill sea creatures. Other times it can land in a tree and a bird or a
squirrel can eat it and that will make those animals die.

I hope that now you know recycling is important and remember don't you be
a litterbug. Help your community in recycling.
