Huntingdon
Borough Park Adopted
The
park behind the Weis store in Huntingdon Borough is litter free thanks
to the work of the Scout Pack 248. Two weeks after a presentation from
the chapter, seven boys, their parents, and scout leader, Darwin Kysor,
set to work cleaning up the littered playground.
Bottles,
cans, paper and debris from Muddy Run were collected by the scouts.
In about one hour, the pack had cleaned up the park to make a cleaner,
safer place for other kids to play.
One
child playing on the swings nearby commented that she "was glad that
there was no trash anymore." Thanks to the Weis Store for accepting
the trash for disposal in their dumpster.
Adoptions
are one way that PA CleanWays fights illegal dumping and littering.
If you or your group is interested in adopting a park, township roadway,
block, waterway or trail, contact the
chapter office.
