The PA CleanWays Butler/Lawrence County affiliate has been doing cleanups for over a decade, but one of the most challenging sites they have cleaned is along Hawthorne Road in Taylor Township. Over six cleanups held in 2001 and 2004, well over 100 volunteers removed 17.76 tons of trash, 11.68 tons of scrap mettle, and 500 tires! This effort has helped decrease illegal dumping in this area dramatically.
