  • November 1; 9 PM to 4PM; Illegal Dump/Litter Cleanup in Indiana County, sponsored by PA CleanWays. This cleanup is along Buterbaugh Road near Marion Center in Grant Township. Volunteers should meet at the Grant Township building at 12:45 PM. From Indiana, take Rt. 119 North for 12 miles. Turn right off of Rt. 119 to Marion Center (Deckers Point Road) and continue for 4.5 miles. Turn right at Julock Road and make an immediate left onto Pine Vale Road, then right onto East Run Road. The township building will be on your right. Lunch and drinks will be provided. Volunteers should wear sturdy shoes or boots and long pants. Registration deadline is October 28th.   • November 6; 9 AM to 1 PM; Illegal Dump/Litter Cleanup in Clarion County, sponsored by PA CleanWays. This volunteer cleanup will be at the corner of Amsler and McElhatten Roads in Beaver Township. Meet at 8:45 AM at the dumpsite. From Elk City, take Huckleberry Ridge Road south for 1.1 miles, turn hard right onto Amsler Road and go 0.6 miles to the intersection with McElhatten Road. Lunch and drinks will be provided. Registration deadline is November 4th. Volunteers should wear sturdy shoes or boots and long pants.   • November 7; 9 AM to 11:30 AM; Educational Event in Westmoreland County, sponsored by Westmoreland Cleanways. This will be held at Oak Hollow Park in North Huntingdon. Preregistration required; $5 material fee. For more information, contact Ellen Keefe at 724-836-4129 or e-mail.

  • November 7; 9 AM to 1 PM; Illegal Dump/Litter Cleanup in Juniata County, sponsored by PA CleanWays. This is the second volunteer cleanup at the Greg's Woods dumpsite in the Gregory Alan Grening Forest Preserve located off of Old Route 22 in Mexico, Walker Township. Volunteers should meet at the dumpsite at 8:45 AM. (Park at the ballpark, and the dumpsite is located along the left backfield side.) Volunteers will help remove litter and illegal dumping.   • November 7; 8 AM to 3 PM; Illegal Dump/Litter Cleanup in Cumberland County, sponsored by PA CleanWays of Cumberland County. This cleanup will be held at the Lisburn Community Fire Company. Volunteers should travel along Brenda Avenue located to the right of the fire company, travel along the stone road to the top of the hill and park in the open grassy field.   • November 7; 9 AM to 1 PM; Illegal Dump/Litter Cleanup in Fulton County, sponsored by PA CleanWays and PA CleanWays of Fulton County. Volunteers are needed to help remove an illegal dumpsite located on Frank Road in Thompson Township in Fulton County. Meet at the top of Frank Road. From McConnellsburg, take US 522 South to PA 655 South to the intersection of Frank and Diehl Road south of Needmore. From Hancock, Maryland, take I-70 North to Exit 168/US 522 South to PA 484. Follow PA 284 East across I-70 until it runs into PA 665 North. Follow to intersection with Frank and Diehl Road, south of Needmore. Please wear sturdy shoes, long sleeves, long pants, and heavy-duty gloves.   • November 7; 8 AM to Noon; Illegal Dump/Litter Cleanup in Huntingdon County, sponsored by PA CleanWays of Huntingdon County. This cleanup is being held on Hogan Road in Shirley Township. Volunteers are needed for this cleanup event and are encouraged to meet at the Shirley Township building. We'll carpool from there. The cleanup will be held rain or shine and lunch will be provided.   • November 7; 9 AM to 1 PM; Illegal Dump/Litter Cleanup in Somerset County, sponsored by PA CleanWays. This cleanup has been cancelled and will be rescheduled in the spring of 2010. The rescheduled date will be listed on our 2010 calendar when the date is determined so please check back at a later date. This is a volunteer trash cleanup that will be held at the intersection of Dominion and Cambria Roads in Stonycreek Township. From Somerset, take Route 31 east for three miles. Turn left onto Stutzmantown Road and go approximately three miles and make a right onto Cambria Road until you reach Dominion Road on the right. Lunch and drinks will be provided.   • November 14; 9 AM to 1 PM; Illegal Dump/Litter Cleanup in Perry County, sponsored by PA CleanWays and PA CleanWays of Perry County. This cleanup will be held along Route 74 north of Ickesburg in Saville Township. Volunteers should meet at 8:30 AM at the Bear's Den Restaurant on SR 74 south of the intersection of SR 74 and SR 17 in Ickesburg. Volunteers will carpool to the dumpsite.   • November 14; 9 AM to 1 PM; Illegal Dump/Litter Cleanup in Clarion County, sponsored by PA CleanWays. This is a volunteer cleanup that will be held at the Black Fox Road dumpsite in Perry Township. Meet at 8:45 AM at the site. From West Freedom, go 2.4 miles. Go South on SR 3001 and turn left (East) onto Black Fox Road and go 0.8 miles. Dumpsite is on the right. Registration deadline is November 12th.   • November 14; 9 AM to Noon; Illegal Dump/Litter Cleanup in Adams County, sponsored by PA CleanWays. This cleanup is along SR 16 near Carroll Valley in Liberty Township. Volunteers should meet at the site at 9 am. From Gettysburg: Take Rt 116 West for 12.1 miles, then turn right onto Rt 16 (Waynesboro Pike) for 1.2 miles. The site is on the left across from Echo Trail. Volunteers should wear sturdy shoes or boots and long pants. Registration deadline is November 12th.   • November 14; 10 AM to 2 PM; Illegal Dump/Litter Cleanup in Allegheny County, sponsored by Allegheny Cleanways. This event is taking place at 58 Marne, Mt. Washington in Pittsburgh. We'll be working with Mt. Washington CDC to remove debris from a dumpsite in Mount Washington Park, one of the anchor parks of the Grand View Scenic Byway Park. This site served as a community dump for many years and has been the focus of a number of restoration efforts in 2009. Come help us as we pull tires, mattresses, shopping carts, car parts, and more out of our park! For those with children there are also areas of litter we would like to tackle! Please wear sturdy shoes with tread and clothing that can get dirty. All supplies (gloves and other tools) and lunch will be provided.   • November 21; 8 AM to Noon; Illegal Dump/Litter Cleanup in Westmoreland County, sponsored by Westmoreland Cleanways. This cleanup will be held at Mt. Thor Road/Seton Hill University in Hempfield Township. Local property owners, Seton Hill University students and local neighbors will help cleanup the area. More volunteers are needed.   • November 21; 9 AM to 1 PM; Illegal Dump/Litter Cleanup in Centre County, sponsored by PA CleanWays. Volunteers are needed to help clean up trash on Woomer Divide Road in State Game Lands 92 in Curtin Township. Volunteers should meet at the PA Game Commission's Howard Nursery at 8:45 AM. Directions to PA Game Commission's Howard Nursery (197 Nursery Road, Howard, PA) from Bellefonte; take Route 144/150 out of town towards Milesburg for approximately 3.5 miles. Turn right onto 220/150 North and stay on that for five miles. Turn right onto Nursery Road. Lunch and drinks will be provided. Volunteers should wear sturdy shoes or boots and long pants.   • November 21; 9 AM to 1 PM; Illegal Dump/Litter Cleanup in Clarion County, sponsored by PA CleanWays. This event will take place at the Concord Church Road tire pile in Perry Township. Volunteers should meet at 8:45 AM at the tire pile. From Dutch Hill, go 1.5 miles. Go North on Doc Walker Road (SR 3001) and turn right onto Concord Church Road. Go 1.1 miles. The dump site is on the right. Signs will be posted. Lunch and drinks will be provided. Registration deadline is November 19th. Volunteers should wear sturdy shoes or boots and long pants.   • November 21; 9 AM to 1 PM; Illegal Dump/Litter Cleanup in Fayette County, sponsored by PA CleanWays. This is a volunteer trash cleanup along Century Road and Mill Street. Meet at 9 AM in the gravel parking lot on Brown Street 1/2 block from Market Street in Brownsville. Volunteers will carpool to the cleanup site. Lunch and drinks will be provided.   • November 28; 10 AM to 1 PM; Illegal Dump/Litter Cleanup in Philadelphia County, sponsored by Friends of Pennypack Park. Volunteers are needed to help cleanup Rhawn Street and Lexington Avenue (3000 Rhawn Street) located in the Northeast section of Philadelphia. This cleanup is Friends of Pennypack Park's monthly cleanup and also the semi-annual cleanup of the PA CleanWays road adoption. Volunteers should wear sturdy shoes or boots and long pants. Gloves, tools, and refreshments will be available.
