  • May 2; 8 AM to 1 PM; Special Collections or Recycling Event in Cambria County, sponsored by PA CleanWays of Cambria County. This event is being held at the Cambria Township Municipal Building in Cambria County. This is a good opportunity for local residents to properly dispose of appliances, tires, and electronics for a minimal fee. For more information, contact Mark Stockley at 814-472-2120 or e-mail.

  • May 2; 9 AM to Noon; Educational Event in Westmoreland County, sponsored by Westmoreland Cleanways. This will be held at The Barn at Donohoe Center in Hempfield Township. Preregistration required; $5 material fee. For more information, contact Ellen Keefe at 724-836-4129 or e-mail.

  • May 2-3; 8 AM to 4 PM; Illegal Dump/Litter Cleanup in Westmoreland County, sponsored by Westmoreland County. This cleanup is being held in Derry Borough and is for various sites, specifically along First Avenue and between Ligonier Street and Hannastown Road. Volunteers are to meet at the Caboose at the end of South Chestnut Street. Bring a bag lunch and your own equipment. Bags, gloves, and vests will be provided.   • May 2; 8:30 AM to Noon; Special Collections or Recycling Event in Westmoreland County, sponsored by Westmoreland Cleanways. This special collections event is being held at Westmoreland Fairgrounds in Mount Pleasant Township. We'll be accepting tires, lead acid batteries, scrap metal, Freon appliances, and electronics.   • May 2; 9 AM to 1 PM; Illegal Dump/Litter Cleanup in Washington County, sponsored by PA CleanWays. This cleanup will be held along Dog Run Road located in State Game Lands 232, Donegal Township. We will meet at the dumpsite at 8:45 AM. (From Washington, follow I-70 West to Exit 6/PA-231 Claysville. Turn Right onto Old National Pike and then Left onto US-40 West. After 3 mi, turn Right onto Lake Road. Follow for 3 mi and turn Left onto Shaler Road. Make Right onto Dog Run Road/SGL 232, and end at dumpsite.)   • May 2; 9 AM to Noon; Illegal Dump/Litter Cleanup in Lawrence County, sponsored by PA CleanWays of Butler-Lawrence Counties. This cleanup will be held on Muddy Creek Road in Slippery Rock Township. This is a small dump cleanup and volunteers must be able to and be comfortable with climbing steep slopes.   • May 8; 9AM to 2 PM; Educational Event in Mifflin County, sponsored by PA CleanWays of Mifflin County. Kindergarten Animal Awareness Day will be held at the Mifflin County Youth Park in Reedsville and is a great way for kids to learn about the hazards of litter to humans and animals. This event is being held at the Tunnelhill Borough Municipal Building in Cambria County.   • May 15; 5 PM to 8 PM; Illegal Dump/Litter Cleanup in Allegheny County, sponsored by Allegheny CleanWays. Kick off Great Outdoors Week by helping to clean up one of our city's great rivers. Join us as we clean up litter and debris along the Strip District Trail and Allegheny River bank. We'll provide equipment, refreshments, and instructions. As always, plan to stay around for pizza and live music on us as part of our Tireless Friday tradition. To be safe during the cleanup, please wear long pants and sturdy, closed-toes shoes or boots and be prepared for inclement weather. To get to the cleanup from downtown, take Liberty Avenue into the Strip District, make a left onto 12th Street, then a right onto Smallman. You'll see the Seagate Building directly on your left. Turn into Seagate's parking lot, park and proceed to the Allegheny River on the Strip District Trail. Look for our table and banner near the trailhead. This event is being held at the Patton Borough Football Field parking lot in Cambria County.   • May 16; 9 AM to 1 PM; Beautification Event in Philadelphia County, sponsored by PA CleanWays of Royal Gardens in Morris Park, West Philadelphia. We are going to doing maintenance on existing flower beds and the park grounds. Also, we will be planting annual flowers.   • May 16; 10 AM to 1 PM; Illegal Dump/Litter Cleanup in Blair County, sponsored by PA CleanWays of Blair County. This cleanup is being held on Sugar Run Road in Allegheny Township. This is an illegal dump cleanup and a road and stream sweep. For more information, contact Mike Union.

  • May 16; 9 AM to 1 PM; Illegal Dump/Litter Cleanup in Venango County, sponsored by PA CleanWays and PA CleanWays of Venango County. This cleanup will be held at the West End Pond illegal dumpsite in Oil City. We will meet at Clarion University Venango Campus Parking Lot on West First Street at 8:45 AM.
