  • June 5; 5 PM to 8 PM; Illegal Dump/Litter Cleanup in Allegheny County, sponsored by Allegheny CleanWays. Join us for a cleanup of the river bank and trail along the Ohio River. As always, we'll provide equipment, refreshments, instructions, and entertainment after the cleanup. Please wear long pants, sturdy boots or shoes, and be prepared for inclement weather. To get there from the downtown Hilton, merge onto 279-N from Fort Pitt Blvd., then merge onto PA-65N via exit 7B on the left towards I-19/Ohio River Blvd. Take Chateau St/US-19S/West End Bridge exit towards PA-51/Western Ave. Take the Chateau Street ramp. Stay straight to go onto Chateau Street. Take a slight right onto Beaver, then an almost immediate left onto Westhall Street. Parking is along Westhall. Look for our table and banner near the trail.   • June 6; 10 AM to 1 PM; Special Collection or Recycling Event in Butler County, sponsored by PA CleanWays of Butler-Lawrence Counties. This event is being held in the BASF parking lot and is a tire collection for passenger vehicle tires only. Fees apply. Click here to download the informational flier.   • June 6; 9 AM to Noon; Educational Event in Westmoreland County, sponsored by Westmoreland Cleanways. This will be held at The Barn at Donohoe Center in Hempfield Township. Preregistration required; $5 material fee. For more information, contact Ellen Keefe at 724-836-4129 or e-mail.

  • June 6; 10 AM to 1PM; Illegal Dump/Litter Cleanup in Allegheny County, sponsored by Allegheny CleanWays. Join with families, neighbors, and local organizations as we improve the trails in Kirkpatrick Park. Projects will include trail maintenance, litter clean-up, and weeding. Wear close-toed, sturdy shoes and long pants. Equipment and food will be provided. To get there from downtown Pittsburgh: Take Centre Avenue to Kirkpatrick Street. Make a right onto Kirkpatrick.   • June 18; 10 AM to 9 PM; Educational Event in Cumberland County, sponsored by PA CleanWays of Cumberland County. The Borough of Mechanicsburg will be sponsoring a street fair, Jubilee Day 2009, in downtown Mechanicsburg. Many street vendors are expected to attend selling arts and crafts and food.   • June 20; 9 AM to Noon; Illegal Dump/Litter Cleanup in Allegheny County, sponsored by Allegheny CleanWays. As part of the ORSANCO Riversweep, we'll be helping "Natrona Comes Together" clean up their riverbanks. Please wear long pants, sturdy (i.e. closed-toed) shoes or boots, and be prepared for inclement weather. As always, equipment, refreshments, instructions, and entertainment after the cleanup will be provided. To get there from downtown Pittsburgh, take Rt. 28 N. Take exit 14 towards Tarentum/New Kensington. Stay in the right lane and head towards Tarentum/Bull Creek Road/Rt.366. Just before the Tarentum Bridge, take ramp towards 1st Ave. Make slight left onto 1st Ave. First Ave. becomes River Avenue. Go past Allegheny Ludlum and at the corner of River Ave and Linden Street, make a right onto Veteran's Way. Park wherever you can find parking and meet us at the pavilion at the end of Veteran's Way.
