calendar includes events and volunteer opportunities for

PA CleanWays Chapters and Affiliates throughout Pennsylvania.

August 1; 9 AM to 1 PM;
Illegal Dump/Litter Cleanup in Mifflin County,
sponsored by PA CleanWays of Mifflin County, in partnership
with Mifflin County Conservation District. Volunteers
will be collecting tires along the Musser Run stream and
in a cove of the Juniata River. Volunteers will meet at
9 AM at the first lane (Dunmire Drive) on River Road,
just off Rt. 22 in McVeytown. Should the water level be
too high, this will be rescheduled for August 8th. To
confirm the cleanup is taking place on August 1st, please
contact Pam Sechrist at 717-899-6701 on Friday, July 31st.

updated
the
Illegal
Dump
Survey
that
was
first
conducted
in
Westmoreland
County
in
1996.
Please
join
us
to
learn
of
the
progress
we've
made
since
then,
the
trouble
spots
that
remain,
and
to
discuss
ways
that
government,
businesses,
and
citizens
can
continue
to
work
together
to
become
part
of
the
solution.
Meet
in
the
main
parking
lot
near
the
terminal
at
the
Arnold
Palmer
Regional
Airport
at
10:30
AM
and
board
vans
for
a
tour
of
an
illegal
dumpsite.
Discussion
and
a
complimentary
luncheon
will
follow
at
DeNunzio's
Italian
Chophouse
immediately
following
the
tour.

3rd
Annual
West
Branch
River
Cleanup
will
be
held
at
the
Borough
of
Jersey
Shore.
Volunteers
can
paddle
or
wade
to
remove
man-made
debris
and
tires.

Join
us
for
our
annual
cleanup
of
Duck
Hollow
in
partnership
with
the
Nine
Mile
Run
Watershed
Association.
We'll
be
removing
litter
and
debris
from
along
the
banks
of
the
Monongahela
River
and
the
Duck
Hollow
Trail.
Please
wear
long
pants
and
sturdy
(i.e.
close-toed)
shoes
or
boots,
and
be
prepared
for
inclement
weather.
We'll
provide
all
of
the
equipment
and
supplies
you'll
need,
including
live
music
and
food
at
the
end
of
the
cleanup.

get
there
from
downtown,
take
376
E
to
the
Squirrel
Hill/Homestead
Exit.
Proceed
straight
towards
Homestead
on
Brownshill
Road.
When
the
road
becomes
two
lanes,
stay
in
the
left
lane
and
turn
left
onto
Old
Brownshill
Road
(at
the
light
near
Wendy's),
then
proceed
down
the
hill
to
Duck
Hollow
Pier.
We'll
assemble
in
the
parking
lot.

Family Festival
will be held at
the Allegheny Commons
on the North Side
of Pittsburgh. Try
an assortment of
outdoor activities,
learn about important
environmental issues,
and find out how
you can get involved.
We'll be teaching
people about the
impact that litter
has on the environment
and signing folks
up to help eliminate
litter and dumping.
