  • October 4; 8:30 AM to Noon; Special Collections/Recycling Event in Westmoreland County, sponsored by Westmoreland Cleanways. This is a tire, battery, and appliance collection that is being held at the Bushy Run Lions Building in Claridge. For additional information, contact Ellen Keefe at 724-836-4129 or e-mail.

  • October 4; 8 AM to 1 PM; Special Collections/Recycling Event in Cambria County, sponsored by PA CleanWays of Cambria County. This is an appliance, tire, and electronics recycling event and it will be held in Portage Township. For more information, please contact Mark Stockley at 814-472-2120 or e-mail.

  • October 4; 10 AM; International Coastal Cleanup in Bucks County, Churchville Nature Center in Churchville. This cleanup will focus on cleaning the nature center grounds. Please bring your own tools such as rakes if possible. For event details, please contact Diane Sears at 215-357-4005 ext 16.

  • October 4; 9 AM to Noon; Fall For Your Park and International Coastal Cleanup in Philadelphia County at the Olney Recreation Center. Registration begins at 8 AM at the Olney Recreation Center at A and Spencer Streets. Lunch will be provided after the cleanup and t-shirts will be handed out while supplies last.   • October 4; 9 AM to 1 PM; Illegal Dump/Litter Cleanup in Perry County sponsored by PA CleanWays. This event is a volunteer cleanup at the Hoverter Tract dumpsite along SR 233 in Tuscarora State Forest. Meet at 9 AM at the Colonel Denning State Park office located on SR 233 eight miles north of Newville. Volunteers will carpool to the site. Lunch and drinks will be provided so registration is necessary. Rain date is scheduled for October 11th.   • October 4; 9 AM to 3 PM; International Coastal Cleanup in Tredyffrin Township, Chester County. Please contact Kathie Jackson at 610-688-4489 or e-mail for more information.

  • October 4; 8:30 AM to 1 PM; Illegal Dump/Litter Cleanup in Mifflin County sponsored by PA CleanWays of Mifflin County. This event is being held on Jack's Mountain in Oliver Township. Volunteers will meet at the Oliver Township Building along Rt. 22, two miles West of McVeytown. We will travel Jack's Mountain Road toward Belleville. The dump site is at the top of the mountain on the right hand side. You will have to park in the wide pull-off on the left hand side of the road. Wear sturdy shoes and long pants.   • October 4; 10 AM to Noon; Educational Event in Allegheny County, sponsored by Allegheny CleanWays. This event is an educational event on litter for the children of the Mooncrest Community. Children will learn about the causes and consequences of litter, use the litter IQ board, and pick up litter around their community center and park.   • October 11; 8:30 AM to 1 PM; Illegal Dump/Litter Cleanup in Mifflin County sponsored by PA CleanWays of Mifflin County. This event is being held on Jack's Mountain in Oliver Township. This is a household hazardous waste collection that was originally scheduled for September 20th and is being held at the Westmoreland Fairgrounds.   • October 11; 9 AM to Noon; Educational Event in Westmoreland County, sponsored by Westmoreland Cleanways. A Backyard Composting Workshop will be held at the Donohoe Center in Greensburg.   • October 11; International Coastal Cleanup in Bucks County at Silver Lake Nature Center. This cleanup will focus on litter removal from Silver Lake. For event details, contact Jennifer Lee Bilger at Silver Lake Nature Center at 215-785-1177 ext 14 or e-mail.

  • October 11; 1 PM to 5 PM; Illegal Dump/Litter Cleanup in Washington County, sponsored by PA CleanWays. This greenways cleanup is the fourth cleanup held at the dumpsite and a continuation of William Gumbert's Eagle Scout Project. Volunteers will meet at the newly dedicated Eagle Run Trail Head on Briggs Street in Allenport Borough (I-70 to SR 88 South to Allenport to right onto Briggs Street). Volunteers (Ages 16 and up) will help remove litter and illegal dumping from the Allenport Hollow Creek hillside.   • October 11; 9 AM to Noon; International Coastal Cleanup in Philadelphia at 6211 Chew Avenue. This cleanup is sponsored by Tookany/Tacony-Frankford Watershed Partnership and will involve removing litter from along the street.   • October 11; 9 AM to 2 PM; International Coastal Cleanup in Delaware County, Borough of Trainer. This cleanup will focus on Marcus Hook Creek. Meet at the Trainer Municipal Building at 824 Main Street in Trainer. Contact Joe Maher at 610-405-0908 for more information.

  • October 11; 8 AM to Noon; Illegal Dump/Litter Cleanup in McKean County, sponsored by PA CleanWays of McKean County. This cleanup is being held on Boliver Drive in Foster Township and State Game Lands #301 in Eldred Township. We will be cleaning up two sites this day. One at the end of Bolivar Drive and the other one on State Game Lands 301 near Larabee-Y in Eldred Township. For more information, please contact Heather McKean at 814-887-4003 or e-mail.

  • October 11; 9 AM to 2 PM; International Coastal Cleanup in the Borough of Trainer, Delaware County. Meet at the Trainer Municipal Building at 824 Main Street in Trainer. The cleanup will focus on Marcus Hook Creek. For more information, please contact Joe Maher at 610-405-0908.

  • October 12; 1 PM to 5 PM; Educational Event in Allegheny County, sponsored by Allegheny CleanWays. This community event, sponsored by Conservation Consultants, Inc., and Duquesne Light, hopes to help residents become energy smarter. Allegheny CleanWays will be hosting a table about recycling - what can be recycled, what products can be made from recycled materials, and how much energy is saved by recycling.   • October 18; 9 AM to 1 PM; International Coastal Cleanup in Montgomery County along the Schuylkill Canal. This cleanup is to remove litter from along the canal and is being sponsored by the Schuylkill Canal Association. Meet at 9 AM at the Locktender's House at Lock 60.   • October 18; 9 AM to Noon; Illegal Dump/Litter Cleanup in Mifflin County sponsored by PA CleanWays of Mifflin County. This is a roadside cleanup with several small dumpsites being targeted. Volunteers should meet at Ollie's parking lot in Burnham at 8:30 AM and we'll go to the site from there. For more information, please contact Pam Sechrist at 717-899-6701 or e-mail.

  • October 18; 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM; Illegal Dump/Litter Cleanup in Allegheny County sponsored by Allegheny CleanWays. We'll be partnering with students from the University of Pittsburgh and local community members to continue removing litter and debris from the part of the greenway closest to Vanucci Park.   • October 25; 9 AM to Noon; Illegal Dump/Litter Cleanup in Lawrence County sponsored by PA CleanWays of Butler-Lawrence Counties. This event is being held to remove illegally dumped trash along the lower Hickory Creek area and River Road in North Beaver and Wayne Townships in New Castle. Volunteers are to meet at the Last Minit Mart in New Castle rain or shine. Lunch and drinks will be provided. Click here to read the flier with all the details.   • October 25; 8 AM to Noon; Illegal Dump/Litter Cleanup in Somerset County sponsored by PA CleanWays. This cleanup event is taking place on Belltown Road in Lincoln Township.   • October 25; 9 AM to 1 PM; Illegal Dump/Litter Cleanup in Lycoming County sponsored by Clinton County CleanScapes.
