  • September 4; Illegal Dump/Litter Cleanup in Venango County, sponsored by PA CleanWays. This cleanup will be held in Oil Creek State Park, CornplanterTownship and is a contractor cleanup. Volunteers are not needed. Contractors will be removing illegally dumped trash from four sites in the park. For additional information, call Susan Carmichael at 877-772-3673 ext. #25 or e-mail.

  • September 8; 9 AM to 12 PM; Educational Event in Westmoreland County, sponsored by Westmoreland Cleanways. A Compost Workshop is being held today at the Center for Conservation Education in Greensburg. Registration is necessary. To register, please contact Ellen at

  • September 8; 11 AM to 5 PM; Educational Event in Allegheny County, sponsored by PA CleanWays of Allegheny County. Flow Fest is an art/eco/music festival to celebrate our rivers and to promote our Tireless Friday's Project and is being held at Washington's Landing Park on Herr's Island.   • September 15; 9 AM to 1 PM; International Coastal Cleanup in Philadelphia and Delaware Counties, sponsored by PA CleanWays of Royal Gardens in Morris Park, West Philadelphia. This cleanup is being held at 68th and Lansdowne Avenue, Fairmont Park Commission. We will be removing illegal dumping from the Cobbs Creek/Darby Watershed.   • September 15; 9 AM to 12 PM; International Coastal Cleanup at Bristol Marsh in Montgomery County. This cleanup is to remove litter from a pond and its surrounding area at Plymouth Meeting.   • September 15; 9 AM to 12 PM; International Coastal Cleanup at Wall Park in Cheltenham Township in Montgomery County. This cleanup is to remove litter from the park area and is being organized by the Montgomery County Conservation District.   • September 15; 8:30 AM to 12 PM; Special Collection/Recycling Event in Westmoreland County, sponsored by Westmoreland Cleanways. This is a tire collection, battery and appliance recycling event and is being held at the Westmoreland Fairgrounds. For further information, contact Ellen at

  • September 15; 11 AM to 4 PM; Educational Event in Philadelphia County, sponsored by PA CleanWays. This is a watershed education event featuring family-oriented entertainment and hands-on activities by many of the region’s most influential environmental organizations.   • September 15; 9 AM to Noon; International Coastal Cleanup and Tireless Event in Allegheny County, sponsored by ICC and PA CleanWays of Allegheny County. For our last Tireless event of the season and the culminating event of a week-long river cleanup, we're taking part in the International Coastal Cleanup Day. Help us clean up litter and debris along the Lawrenceville Riverfront Trail and the adjacent Allegheny River riparian buffer zone. Equipment, refreshments, instructions, and lunch will be provided. Come dressed appropriately (we suggest long pants and sturdy boots/shoes) and be prepared for inclement weather. To get to the clean up site from downtown Pittsburgh, take Liberty Avenue and turn left onto 40th Street. Proceed towards the 40th Street Bridge and park at the Carnegie Robots Center parking lot. It will lead you directly to the Lawrenceville Riverfront Trail. We will assemble there next to the PA CleanWays and Friends of the Riverfront banners adjacent to the trail.
