• March 8 to April 2; Educational Event - Recycle Poster Contest in Mifflin County, sponsored by PA CleanWays of Mifflin County. We are partnering with Mifflin County Solid Waste Authority, Lewistown Borough Recycling and Walmart. • March 10; 9 AM to 1 PM; Coastal Zone Management Illegal Dump/Litter Cleanup in Philadelphia County, sponsored by PA CleanWays. This cleanup is taking place at the Morris Park/Royal Gardens in Philadelphia. Volunteers will help to remove litter and illegal dumping from the park. • March 10; 10 AM to Noon; Illegal Dump/Litter Cleanup in Union County, sponsored by Clinton County CleanScapes. This cleanup is taking place at Creek Road between Millmont and Libby roads. Join Union County Conservation District and Lower Penns Creek Watershed Association in removing debris from the banks of Penns Creek. Light refreshments will be available. • March 15 through March 30; Illegal Dump/Litter Cleanup in Huntingdon County, sponsored by PA CleanWays of Huntingdon County. This is an ongoing event that will last approximately two weeks in which equipment will be donated through the PA Game Commission and the Warrior Ridge Hydro Power Company. A volunteer cleanup will be scheduled after the area has the large materials removed and is regraded. Watch our "Calendar of Events" for the date in which volunteers will be needed. • March 24; 9 AM to 12 PM; Illegal Dump/Litter Cleanup in Mifflin County, sponsored by PA CleanWays of Mifflin County. This cleanup is being held at Chestnut Street Extended in Derry Township and we'll be cleaning up a dump site near Kish Creek. We will meet at the Mifflin County Library and car pool from there. • March 31; 9 AM to 1 PM; Illegal Dump/Litter Cleanup in Lycoming County, sponsored by Clinton County CleanScapes. This cleanup is taking place at Reach Road, West Branch of the Susquehanna Floodplain. Join Shikellamy State Park and Clinton County CleanScapes in removing debris from an old canal bed and forested floodplain in the West Branch of the Susquehanna River. • March 31; 8 AM to Noon; Illegal Dump/Litter Cleanup in Bedford County, sponsored by PA CleanWays of Bedford County. We will again partner with Bob's Creek Guardians on this cleanup along seven miles of Bob's Creek. • March 31; 10 AM to 4 PM; Illegal Dump/Litter Cleanup in Venango County, sponsored by PA CleanWays of Venango County. This event is scheduled as a trash cleanup in the morning and a geocaching CITO event in the afternoon, however, the general public is welcome. We will meet at 10 AM at the Egbert Pavillion. • March 31; 9 AM to 1PM; Illegal Dump/Litter Cleanup in Lawrence County, sponsored by PA CleanWays of Butler-Lawrence County. Volunteers will be helping to clean up trash along sections of the developing North County and will be taking place at various places, so please contact the chapter for details for meeting sites.
