New Faces at PA CleanWays of Allegheny County
Executive Director,
Danielle Crumrine
Danielle
is no stranger to PA CleanWays of Allegheny County. She joined the chapter
in October 2000 as the chapter's advisory board president, and served
in this capacity up until she assumed the role of Executive Director
in October 2003.
Danielle has been
active in multiple non-profit-organizations since she moved to Allegheny
County in 1996 to study at Duquesne University. During her term of service
with Literacy Americorps she found the direction for both her personal
and professional life: "to get things done" to improve the
community. After completing her degree in Political Science and Spanish
in 2000, she was hired by the Duquesne University development office
where she served for three years as Assistant Director of Annual Fund.
While employed at the University, she earned her master's degree in
education.
In addition to her
work with PA CleanWays of Allegheny County and Duquesne University,
Danielle serves on State Board of Directors for the Pennsylvania Future
Business Leaders of America, acts as the Education Director and Fundraising
Chair for Steel Valley Arts Council, and is a big sister for Big Brothers
and Big Sisters.
Advisory Board
President, Moira Aulbach
Moira
became involved with PA CleanWays because of her strong interest in
the betterment of our environment, particularly when it comes to the
beautification of our neighborhoods. She has supported the PA CleanWays
mission by serving as the chapter's vice president before assuming the
role of president, in addition to her energetic presence at cleanups
and beautification projects. Her dedication to the environment extends
into her professional life at the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy where
she holds the position of Director, Constituent Programs and volunteers
as a garden captain. Moira's volunteering spirit keeps her busy outside
of her work with PA CleanWays of Allegheny County as a Board Member
and Project Coordinator for Pittsburgh Cares and Alpine Skiing Volunteer
for the Special Olympics Pennsylvania Winter Games.
Intern, Amanda
Illar
Amanda
majors in Geology and Environmental Studies at the University of Pittsburgh.
Her work toward a certificate in Geographic Information Systems is the
focus of much of the work she will complete as an intern with PA CleanWays
of Allegheny County. Amanda will contribute to the chapter and earn
credits toward her degree by mapping and recording data for illegal
dumpsites to create strategic maps that will enable the chapter to better
explain the scope of the illegal dumping and littering problem in Allegheny
County.
Coro Fellow,
George Jeng
George
is excited to have received a placement with PA CleanWays of Allegheny
County as he explores a future in environmental work. He is a recent
graduate of Carnegie Mellon University where he majored in Mechanical
Engineering and minored in Architecture. George will offer his skills
in web development to create an online home for the Pittsburgh Illegal
Dump Survey as well as establish the framework to add the county-wide
assessment. The site will be interactive so that residents can view
illegal dumps and statistics in their community and participate by submitting
online dump surveys.
