2006 Great PA Cleanup -
Record Results
As
part of the 2006 Great PA Cleanup, PACWAC provided technical support
and resources to Allegheny County residents who were interested in coordinating
a clean-up effort in their community.
On Monday, April
3rd and 10th, PACWAC conducted a workshop to train individuals on how
to plan a community clean-up from start to finish. The workshop included
such topics as: clean-up techniques, volunteer recruitment techniques,
partnership building, available resources, volunteer safety, and event
publicity. Forty residents attended, and seventeen of these participants
worked with PACWAC to coordinate clean-ups on April 22nd at the Great
PA Cleanup.
In addition to facilitating
the cleanups listed in the table below, PACWAC provided supplies to
volunteers in Beltzhoover, Mount Lebanon, and Polish Hill.
